We are blessed to have another beautiful sunny day here in Montreal! I sit in the sun as I write to you :-)
This wonderful recipe suits any kind of weather and can be cooked on the BBQ or in the oven. Salmon is high in Omega 3 which is brain and body supportive. Omega 3 has been proved to aid cognitive function, increasing attention/focus, memory function, and stabilizing emotions. Research has also shown it helps support the cardiovascular system and reduce inflammation in the joints.
Please always buy wild caught salmon to avoid the many toxins in farm raised fish.
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons gluten free tamari
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound salmon
In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, tamari sauce, garlic, garlic salt, and pepper.
Place salmon in a shallow glass baking dish, and coat with the maple syrup mixture. Cover the dish, and marinate salmon in the refrigerator 30 minutes, turning once.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven, and bake salmon uncovered 20 minutes, or until easily flaked with a fork, or cook on a cedar plank on the BBQ
Add a side salad and some steamed vegetables, and you have a super nutrient packed meal!
Enjoy your weekend!
