BlueDot Tour with David Suzuki!

Hi Everyone,

I would like to share a little bit about the BlueDot Tour that I attended last Sunday evening to celebrate with the David Suzuki Foundation in Montreal. We are so blessed to have such a man as him heading up something so paramount as this, and I think we all need to recognize this. We need to think about the fact that this man, and his whole foundation of committed passionate people are actually voluntarily taking action to protect us! The Blue Dot Movement is a movement to join people together to stand up for our right to clean air, water and food and the response and support has been huge! Please read about it here!

What I notice is that, most often we are stuck in our own little worlds, just solving the problems that come our way personally or just living day to day. Many people don't take a look at what's really happening as we go about our day. It's time we wake up!

If you actually think about it, it is absurd that we have to lobby for our right to breathe clean air, eat clean food, and drink clean water! We are the only species that would poison their own environment; think about this--would you consciously poison your food with chemicals before you eat it? Picture yourself going out to pick some lettuce from your garden and then picking up a bottle of poison and spraying it all over it, and then making salad! It's preposterous! And truly, it's that bad and it's that simple. -We are actually contaminating our own world with poison!

Our air is poisoned with petrochemicals, our water poisoned with mercury and so many other chemicals that our fish are deformed, our food sprayed with toxic chemicals from seed to harvest, and even genetically mutilated to explode the stomachs of bugs that prey on it, or turn gene expressions that would otherwise lie dormant and harmless in our bodies. 90% of our food that we buy in the grocery store is poisoned before we touch it, and we happily go about being deliberately ignorant to what's happening in order to not be inconvenienced! My profession shouldn't even be needed, because if our food was pure, our air clean, and our water safe, people would be healthy. It pains me so much to watch this day after day that THIS is the reason I do what I do. And I thank organizations such as David Suzuki for the jump start they have on getting this absurdity turned around.

Would anyone think that when our constitutional rights were created, they would actually have to think about putting in a clause about --oh, by the way- we better make sure we put something in there about the right to not be poisoned on a daily basis by our own air, water and food! Ludicrous!

I can't thank the David Suzuki Foundation and others that are creating awareness enough-for their movement to do what will allow us to survive as a strong and healthy species (brain and body) on this planet. And you can be sure you will see my own movements of creating awareness making a bigger footprint as we go forward. Please don't take this lightly, and use the power you have--each one of
us have it individually; and that is where you spend your dollar. Buy organic and local, and don't take this lightly, as just a bunch of hippies or yuppies talking because it impacts all of us directly. Pick up the documentary from http://origins.well.org/ called Origens---and watch it carefully and take your stand now, before it's too late!

Disclaimer ;-) I will not apologise for my frankness or my passion. Please pass this on
