As a member of the Association of Natural Nutrition Clinical Practitioners, I focus on nutritional counselling to build health and wellness. My goal is to assist you with understanding how best to nourish
your body for maximum health and vitality.
I will help you to identify and target the root of potential health issues and help your body to rebalance and heal itself naturally.
Learning how to support your digestive system and improve your lifestyle choices will have a profound and lasting effect on the quality of your life by increasing your energy level, bringing clarity of mind, emotional balance, enhancing immunity, promoting natural weight loss and reducing health complaints. The benefits associated with a nutritional consultation are far reaching.
The reason is quite simple really — learning how to make better life choices now will serve you well tomorrow and for your entire life.
NNCPs use a variety of assessment tools which may include attaining a complete medical, emotional and lifestyle evaluation as well as an in-depth dietary history to determine a course of action that best suits your individual biochemistry.
Our job is to educate and advise about dietary habits, food supplementation and healthy lifestyle.
I work with an array of clients with many different health issues from chronic inflammation and digestive issues, emotional/mental disturbances to acute conditions such as the common cold and influenza. My specialty is the gut/brain connection as they are indeed intertwined.
Studies have shown that stress depletes essential minerals, and affects digestion, causing imbalances and disease due to a chronic inflammatory response in the body. Also studies have shown that nutrient imbalances cause emotional and mental stress. A cycle of nutrient depletion causing stress and stress causing nutrient depletion can be devastating.
Symptoms of stress affecting the body include reduced immune function, increased inflammation, high blood pressure, problems with blood sugar levels and hormonal balance.
Symptoms of nutrient imbalances or deficiencies affecting the brain include classic cases of low energy, brain fog and negative outlook to full out clinical depression, anxiety and panic attacks, sleep disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, Autism, and more. Craving alcohol, sweets and carbs in an attempt to re-balance the agitated state of the body and nervous system has been documented as due to nutritional imbalances as well.
All of these maladies, stemming from stress, faulty digestion, food allergies and intestinal issues can be greatly improved and often even reversed by diet and lifestyle changes. Correction through proper nutrition and supplementation has shown to bring great relief to people who have suffered for years.
